Hello I’m Lucy Kershaw, I’m a beauty and holistic therapist who’s been working at Totally Polished for over 4 years and my business is Brows & Beauty by Lucy.

I started in the industry while I was still at school, helping within a busy York salon doing Saturday girl duties. From there I chose to go to Leeds Thomas Danby College to study NVQ Level 2&3 beauty therapy. As soon as my course started I knew that I was meant to do this as my career and loved being around different people everyday. My main love was massage where I trained in additional courses such as, anatomy & physiology, hot stone massage, deep tissue, sports massage and pregnancy treatments. This ultimately led me to working within Spa hotels and day spas for 6 years after leaving college and being manager at one for 2 years.

I then chose to make the leap to being self employed in 2015 and the rest they say is history!!

I started mobile initially and then Ffion approached me about working along side her at Totally Polished. Once I started working from the original premises I added more training and treatments to my repertoire. I studied in LVL lashes, ear piercing, microdermabrasion and intimate waxing.
One thing I have always wanted to do is keep my training up to date and refreshed. With this in mind I chose to do my Level 4 qualification alongside my Microblading course in 2018. I have always loved doing eyebrow transformations and this was another treatment to add to my list!

I will always be an all round beauty therapist as I love the variety however I would definitely say some of my favourite treatments are, massage, facials, eyebrows (maintenance and microblading), waxing and nails.

When a client comes to me for a treatment they will always be greeted with a warm welcome, I love getting to know people and how they like their treatments to be done and will always work around making anyone feel comfortable during an appointment.
