I started in the Beauty Industry as a Saturday Girl when I was 14 years old. When I finished School I went straight to York college and completed Beauty Therapy NVQ Levels 2 and 3 through an Apprenticeship Scheme.


I then went on to further my education training and gaining experience in Dermalogica, Lash Perfect, CACI Facials and Gelish Hard Gel. I had reached the point where I wanted to further my career and take my own lead on decisions and development so I moved to a Salon based in Boston Spa becoming self employed renting a chair. The experience in a different element was an additional learning curve but the distance was too far for my regular clients to commute and this lead me to find accommodation in Tadcaster and launch Totally Polished.


My first premises for Totally Polished was on the one way system comprising an open plan double room. This was a perfect situation for starting up my business, plans and goals. I took further education in Lash Treatments with Lash Perfect in Russian Lashes and LVL Lashes with Nouveau. Totally Polished went from strength to strength and presented me my dream opportunity of a much larger Salon, where I am located today, at 15 High Street, Tadcaster, LS24 9AP. Having a much larger premises I am now in a position to have renting space for more therapists and more treatments.


I continue running and working in the Salon focusing on Nail and Lash treatments. My absolute passion is Nail Art which has become a great hit with my clients. I have taken part in specialised Nail Art Courses, Social Media Nail Workshops along with other Nail Technicians across the Country. In my ever increasing drive to further my education and knowledge, during lockdown I completed my Level 3 Award in Education and Training and I am now qualified to Teach Beauty Courses for which I am trained in. Thus Totally Polished Training Academy was formed now making my business heading of Totally Polished Beauty Salon & Training Academy. The Academy is situated within the Salon on Sundays when the main Salon is closed. I offer Accredited Courses in Nail and Lash Treatments enabling you to start out on your own career path. I also offer Nail Art Masterclasses stepping up your creative skills and educating yourself on the most popular looks of the season.

When you book online please double check you are booking the correct treatment. If you need a soak off make sure you include this, if you require nail art please make sure you book for this, if your booking is incorrect this may mean the treatment will not be able to go ahead. When booking please make a note of how long you have allocated for your treatment time and that you are free for the full treatment time as this is the time I need to complete the treatment.


I do offer gift vouchers that can be redeemed with myself for any of the treatments I offer and products that I sell. Vouchers are valid for 6 months and can be purchased in the salon.

When booking please let me know in the notes section you have a voucher you will be using.


Please note anyone under the age of 16 requires a signed consent from a parent or guardian before any treatment can go ahead. Anyone under the age of 16 MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian when having a treatment in the salon. 
I do not carry out Gel Polish nail services on anyone under the age of 14.
I do not carry out Lash or Brow Tinting, Lash Extensions or Lash Lifting Treatments on anyone under the age of 16.



A patch test is required at least 48 hours before the following treatments:
  • Lash and Brow Tinting
  • LVL Lash Lifting
  • Lash Extensions
Please note I DO NOT except disclaimer forms and no patch test means no treatment will go ahead. You can book a patch test on my online booking system or by giving the salon a call. Please ONLY book your patch test in with myself as all therapist working within the salon use different products.
What to expect from different patch testing appointments
Lash and Brow Patch Tests - This is the tint and developer mixed up by your beauty professional and then a little dot of product is placed behind your ear. This patch test takes less than a minute to complete.
LVL Lash Lifting Patch Tests - The guidance has recently changed for this, I can no longer post out these patch tests and they must be done in person. The patch test only takes a few minutes to complete. There is 4 product tests and 1 tinting test that is applied in the inside of your upper arm. We recommend you wear a jacket or sleeveless top so we can apply this patch test.
Lash Extension Patch Tests - This test requires me to apply a few lash extensions to your outer natural lashes on each eye. You will need to arrive for your patch test with no eye make up on and no contact lenses in. I will use the under eye pad, prep, primer and glue that will be used in the actual lash treatment to make sure nothing irritates you.



I accept all major debit/credit cards (Excluding Amex), Cash and Apple Pay.
Please note all card transactions have to be £10.00 or over.  


I ask that you refrain from bringing young children into the salon. There are so many chemicals and equipment unsafe for children in a salon environment, we know what curious children are like. This also allows you and others in the salon the opportunity to relax and be pampered.


I have a 48 hour cancellation policy in place, this policy applies to all appointments booked. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment please give at least 48 hours notice. I will be happy to change or cancel any appointments up until 48 hours before.

Any cancellations or appointment movements made with less than 48 hours notice will result in a 50% charge. Any cancellations or appointment movements made with less than 24 hours notice will result in a 100% charge.

I have the right to refuse or cancel future appointments at the Salon if appointments are continually missed/changed without notice.


Any 'no show' appointments will be charged 100% of the treatment price that was booked. This payment will be required before a new booking can be made.


If you are running late please contact me directly or call the salon as soon as possible. I will always do our best to accommodate, however any appointments 15 minutes late or more may not be able to go ahead.


My priority is for you to be completely satisfied with the service you receive from us. I run a professional business and aim to deliver the highest standards in everything I do. Complaints are rare but I take them very seriously, I have a complaints policy and process which I follow to make sure that things are put right where needed and I can learn from your feedback.


It is your responsibility as the owner, to take care of any property you bring into the salon. I take no responsibility for any property which is lost or damaged, unless it is damaged by myself due to carelessness. Anything left in the salon will be held for 8 weeks, I will do my best to contact you to retrieve your property.

I collect information about you when you book an appointment for a service or treatment, visit me in the salon for a service or treatment, buy a product or apply for a job, whether contact is online, on paper, by email or over the phone.  

The information you give me may include your name, address, email address, phone number, relevant history which may suggest that a service or treatment should not go ahead or certain products should not be used (eg allergies, pregnancy, skin conditions), payment and transaction information, IP address and CVs.

For clients under the age of 16, I will only keep and use their personal information with the consent of a parent, carer or guardian.





In law, I am allowed to use personal information, including sharing it outside the salon, only if I have a proper reason to do so, for example:

– To fulfil a contract with you ie to provide the service or treatment you have requested and to communicate with you about your appointments

– When it is in our legitimate interest ie there is a business or commercial reason to do so, unless this is outweighed by your rights or interests

– When you consent to it: we will always ask for your consent to hold and use health and medical information.

I have rigorous data protection and security policies in place with all our suppliers.

I will not share your information with any other third party without your consent except to help prevent fraud, or if required to do so by law. Please see my booking systems privacy policy below.

Unless you request otherwise, I will keep your information to contact you no more than twelve times a year – for a maximum of 1 year from your last visit to the salon.

After a year I will delete all your personal information, except for your name, relevant client history (eg allergy test records which we keep for 4 years) and financial transactions (which we are obliged to keep for 6 years).



This information is encrypted and held in the cloud with our booking system provider (Fresha/Shedul). Historical consultation forms (prior to the use of the online booking system) are locked and stored away from the salon. Paper consultation/consent forms for current clients are locked and stored within the salon.

Your information is stored within the European Economic Area on secure servers provided by Fresha/Shedul. Any payment transactions are encrypted. Sending information via the internet is not completely secure, although we will do our best to protect your information and prevent unauthorised access.





You have the right to request a copy of the personal information that I hold about you. This will normally be free, unless we consider the request to be unfounded or excessive, in which case we may charge a fee to cover our administration costs.

We email e-newsletters to inform you about products, services and treatments provided by our salon. You have the opportunity to unsubscribe from e-newsletters at any time.

E-newsletters may contain subscriber tracking facilities within the actual email, for example, whether emails were opened or forwarded, which links were clicked on within the email content, the times, dates and frequency of activity. I use this information to refine future email campaigns and provide you with more relevant content based around your activity.
