Totally Polished was founded in 2015 by Ffion Powell with a simple mission: to create a beauty salon in Tadcaster where expert techniques, genuine care, and attention to detail come together to help you look and feel incredible.

What started as a passion for perfecting nails has grown into a luxury beauty destination offering everything from our signature builder gel techniques to The GLOW Facial all delivered by a talented team who truly love what they do.

MEET THE OWNER: FFION POWELL
NAIL TECH | SALON OWNER | NAIL EDUCATOR
At just 14, Ffion began working as a Saturday Girl, immediately falling in love with the creativity, precision, and confidence that beauty treatments could bring. After school, she pursued her NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Beauty Therapy through an Apprenticeship Scheme at York College, building a strong foundation in all areas of beauty therapy.

In 2015, she took the bold step of opening Totally Polished in her hometown of Tadcaster, starting small in an open-plan room, but with big ambitions. As word spread and the salon flourished, Ffion moved to a larger, more beautiful space at 15 High Street. What began as a solo venture has grown into a thriving team of talented therapists, offering an extensive menu of treatments under one roof.

Ffion's passion has always been nails, particularly short minimal nails, which has become a signature service loved by clients. She's pursued specialised nail art courses, workshops and international retreats, constantly refining her techniques and pushing creative boundaries.

Then came lockdown. While the world paused, Ffion didn't. She achieved her Level 3 Award in Education and Training and launched the Totally Polished Training Academy, sharing her expertise with the next generation of beauty therapists. Operating from the salon, the Academy now offers fully accredited courses in nails, empowering students to start their own successful careers.

Today, with over 16 years of experience, Ffion's role has evolved. She manages the salon, mentors her team, and helps each therapist build their confidence and reputation within the industry, all while still offering select appointments to her loyal clients.

Behind every beautiful set of nails and glowing complexion is our talented team of beauty therapists. Each member brings their own expertise, personality, and passion to the salon, but we all share the same commitment: to make you look and feel incredible.

Totally Polished is a hybrid salon, meaning we house both employed therapists and self-employed therapists.
​
Our employed therapists work directly under the Totally Polished brand. When you book with them, you're booking through our salon system, with our pricing, and under our care from start to finish.
​
Our self-employed therapists operate their own businesses within our salon space. They manage their own diaries, set their own prices, and run their treatments independently, but they're part of the Totally Polished family and uphold the same high standards we're known for.
​
This hybrid model means you get access to a wider range of specialists and availability, all while enjoying the welcoming, professional atmosphere that makes Totally Polished special.
